Tehran, which has many sights and historical and tourist attractions, is very suitable for travel. Tehran Bazaar Complex is located on the south side of 15 Khordad Street and its distance from Molavi, Khayyam and 17 Shahrivar streets, in the old and historical context of the city, and as in the past, it is the most important commercial and commercial center. Tehran Bazaar, along with other historical monuments in its area, such as Imam Mosque, Jame Mosque, etc., is one of the most important historical and artistic complexes in Tehran.

Market History:

According to the available documents and evidences, the original building of the bazaar of Shah Tahmaseb Safavid Shah and at the same time with the construction of towers and fortifications and gates of Tehran belongs to the years 930-948 AH. Apparently, the four bazaars of Labafha, Karaji Dozah, Siraj and Nalchiha are the oldest part of Tehran Bazaar. According to Sania al-Dawla, four large and small bazaars were built during the reign of Fath Ali Shah Qajar. At this time, the bazaar complex expanded to the northwest and west, so that gradually the boundary between the citadel and the Grand Mosque became a thriving part of the bazaar, and the most famous and prestigious houses and Timchehs were activated in this area.

During the reign of Nasser al-Din Shah, the number of rows and rows of bazaars increased and a number of prestigious houses and Timchehs were built. Like other historical bazaars, each row, row, house and Timcheh of Tehran Bazaar was dedicated to a specific class and activity. During this period, the main sectors were: shoemakers 'bazaar, carpet sellers' market, inter-harem bazaar (Soltani Jafari), Chahar Sooq Bozorg Bazaar, Jame Mosque, Chahar Sooq Bazaar Bazaar, Chehel Tan Bazaar (which is one of the oldest parts of the bazaar and It belongs to the period of Fath Ali Shah), Ahangaran Bazaar, Mesgaran Bazaar and Pachnar Bazaar.

In addition, markets have been set up in and around the bazaar to feed the city's various neighborhoods. Including Moayer Bazaar and Al-Dawlah Forces, which were famous for their twin bazaars. From Abbas Karbala'i bazaar, Abbas Ali Kamar Gachi, Nayeb al-Saltanah bazaar, and only 2 names remain.

In Naser Khosrow Street, near the main bazaar complex, there were bazaars and Timchehs, some of which today remain, such as the Marvi Bazaar from the time of Fath Ali Shah and Timcheh Sadr Azam. The rapid growth and development of Tehran has disturbed the traditional architecture of the bazaar.

Many parts of the market were renovated or rebuilt, and the balance between the different parts was lost. Currently, the old and interesting parts of the bazaar are the bazaar on the green side of Sabzeh Maidan, Amir Bazaar, Chahar Sooq Bozorg, Timcheh Hajib Al-Dawlah, Ala Al-Dawlah, Qaisaria and Mahdieh, as well as parts of the bazaar that are connected to Imam Mosque, Grand Mosque And there are other historical monuments. The initial construction of Sabzeh Maidan on the north side of the bazaar complex dates back to the early Safavid period, but in the Qajar period and in 1268 AH, by order of Amir Kabir Haj Ali Khan Moghadam Maraghei (Hajib al-Dawlah), major changes were made in the condition of Sabzeh Maidan.

In different periods, this square was one of the important religious, social and political centers of Tehran and various religious and political ceremonies were performed in it. On the south side of Sabzeh, there is a beautiful square that leads to different rows of the market. This head is wider and fuller in the surrounding openings dedicated to shops. The old parts of Tehran's bazaar are covered with arches and domes, and their lighting is provided by openings in its brick domes. But the damaged or new parts of the market are covered with new and temporary materials and lack significant architecture.

The large four-story building, located in a market of the same name, is an octagonal space covered with a relatively short circular dome, and the interior is plastered. This building was built in 1222 AH. Timcheh Hajib al-Dawla is located next to the Imam Mosque and is one of the most valuable buildings in the bazaar, which was built by Haj Ali Khan Hajib al-Dawla during the reign of Nasser al-Din Shah. In the recent period, in the interior of this building, a new commercial complex has been built, which has changed the originality and the old face of the building. Another building of Timcheh Mahdieh Bazaar is at the beginning of Amir Bazaar (Kafashan), which has an excellent multiplication and Yazidi layout.
